Connect with Community

Galatians 6.1-2: Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

As people made in the image of God, we all need community. For this reason, we offer several different ways you can get plugged into our Hope community. When we meet together, our goal is to grow deeper in our relationships by pointing each other to Jesus Christ.

Koinonia Groups

Koinonia means what is known as "fellowship." As believers who are in fellowship with Christ, those who profess to believe in Christ as their savior are called to community. Within the local church, Hope provides koinonia groups where members of the church are able to meeting regularly with others to be mutually encouraged by the gospel.

What do KOINONIA groups do?
Koinonia groups meet together to learn about God's Word and how God's grace changes our lives. As each group is assigned a leader, leaders of the group facilitate discussion and conversation through materials related to the Christian faith in small group settings. As groups come from various age groups and life stages, members are brought into a more intimate setting with others in the church.

We believe it is important to make a visible commitment to Christ and his people. A great way to do this is through Church membership. At Hope, we think of our members as a family. This is an official way to join that family. Church membership is also a way to state before God and others that you are part of this local body of believers.

At Hope Church, we acknowledge that there is nothing we can do on our own strength and wisdom. For this reason, we continually turn to our Father through our mediator Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. We take comfort in the fact that though we are imperfect and weak, God works through our prayers. Join us as we intercede on behalf of the church and for the city of San Diego.
